GUARD SERVICES
With many qualified people to draw from, we believe in carefully
selecting personnel for each Assignment. Adhering to that philosophy,
we have developed enough manpower to interchange our people until
they have met the standards of our clients. Our guards are professional,
well trained and managed by a conscientious staff that guarantees
their performance.
Our Security Guards, who are also called security officers, patrol
and inspect property to protect against fire, theft, vandalism,
terrorism, and illegal activity. Safety Keeper’s Security Guards/Officers
are there to protect our client’s investment, enforce the property
rules and regulations, and deter criminal activity and other problems.
We use radio and telephone communications to call for assistance
from police, fire, or emergency medical services as the situation
dictates.
Our Security guards write comprehensive reports outlining their
observations and activities during their assigned shift. They
also may interview witnesses or victims, prepare case reports,
and testify in court.
All of our security officers must show good judgment and common
sense, follow directions and directives from supervisors, testify
accurately in court, and follow company policy and guidelines.
Our Guards should have a professional appearance and attitude
and be able to interact with the public. They also must be able
to take charge and direct others in emergencies or other dangerous
incidents. In our organization, the security manager and security
instructor (DI) is in charge of a trained guard force divided
into shifts. Our Guards usually work at least 8-hour shifts for
40 hours per week and often are on call in case an emergency arises.
TRAINING
We view each applicant with the thought in mind of placement in
one of three categories:
watchman (uniformed and non-uniformed), uniformed guard and a
security officer. Our training program is tailored for each category.
Our training exceeds the State of Florida mandated training law.
Our personnel are given classroom instruction on all facets of
security duties. Their training is started with the basics in
security and continues through the handling of emergencies and
various other specializations.
The training of our personnel is standard regardless of the
location of the job. Many jobs require additional training. When
it is necessary, we provide the added training. The training procedures
are as follows:
1. We insist on training with on-going classroom sessions at
our home office.
2. The field inspectors will quiz the security officers on their
retention of the information. If the security officer cannot demonstrate
retention of the information, the officer is scheduled for another
quiz in one week. We continue the process until we are satisfied
the security officer is capable. This process will continue until
such time that all of the personnel are properly trained.
This training program in the field is continued until our security
officer has complete knowledge of your site relative to his job.
When particular duties do not apply to the job site at which the
security officer is stationed, he is given additional instruction.
Any security officer who cannot successfully complete training
required for his job site is transferred to another site. If any
on security officer is transferred more than twice, he usually
is terminated from our employment.
APPEARANCE
The appearance of a security officer is extremely important.
They are not only representing themselves, but also the Security
Company and the client. All full time officers are issued five
uniforms and a jacket that are professionally dry cleaned by the
company and delivered directly to your location. No uniform is
ever worn two consecutive days or more than twice before it is
cleaned. Any uniform that does not look new is immediately replaced.
Personal grooming is just as important as a professional looking
uniform. Safety Keeper Security has strict grooming requirements
that must be followed at all times. The Field Supervisors and
operations staff continually monitors these requirements. The
specific requirements are:
• Female employees - Hair style, make-up, and jewelry must be
worn in a neat and tasteful manner. Extremes of any kind will
not be permitted.
• Male employees – Hair must be neat and well trimmed on the sides
and in the back, and must be of a natural color. Mustaches must
be neatly groomed and may not extend below the corners of the
mouth or below the line of the upper lip. Employees must be clean-shaven
during working hours.
A security officer must look like a professional to be treated
like one. It is with grate confidence that you will be as pleased
with the appearance of our officers as you will be with our superior
level of service.
SUPERVISION
All security companies talk about their supervision, but Safety
Keeper Security SUPERVISES. Above all else, supervision is what
makes Safety Keeper different from the rest of the companies.
To ensure peak performance from each officer, supervisors review
and evaluate each client's account as often as necessary. These
radio-equipped supervisors are ready to be dispatched to any trouble
spot immediately. This is the kind of readiness that makes even
the best security officer a better security officer.
At Safety Keeper Security, we firmly believe that there are three
essential factors that determine the quality of service provided
by any supplier in the contract security industry. They are:
EMPLOYEE SCREENING AND SELECTION
TRAINING & SUPERVISION
MANAGEMENT RESPONSE
